Archive of Administration by the C. F. M.

In the archive of the Charitable Facilities of Mytilene there is a series of files regarding the multiple managerial and administrational actions of the Institution. The specific folder includes 132 files, in which important information on the operation of the C. F. M. is recorded.

Management of the C. F. M.

The management of the Charitable Facilities of Mytilene was a responsibility of a committee whose members were appointed by the -at that time in office- Eparch of Mytilene, according to the relevant Patriarchal Order of 1692. This managerial structure changed in 1844, when the governors of the Hospital (C. F. M.) and the members of the Eldership of Mytilene convened to an extraordinary general assembly and decided (proceedings no. 796) the conjunction of the educational institutions with the Hospital. Until then, the schools of Mytilene were under the control of the Eldership.

In 1955 and according to law N 1414, the Governorship of the Charitable Facilities is replaced by a Management Board. Head of this Board is the-at that time in office- Eparch of Mytilene, while also participate: the Chairman of the judges of the First Instance Court as vice president, a representative of the Municipality of Mytilene, the Head of the Agricultural Directorate, the President of the Bar Association, the President of the Medical Association, the President of the Commerce and Industrial Chamber, the President of the Labour centre and two more reputable citizens, appointed by the-at that time in office-Minister of Economics. This structure applies until today.
